Be Instructed

Finding Stillness in the Constant Noise

We are currently living through a period of relentless information saturation that often mimics true wisdom. To discern the times, we must learn to distinguish between the noise of the world and the voice of God.

The modern experience is defined by a constant stream of updates, breaking headlines, and rapid-fire opinions. While it is natural to want to stay informed about geopolitical shifts and societal changes, there is a subtle danger in becoming tethered to the rhythm of the news cycle. When our primary input comes from sources driven by outrage or fear, our internal compass begins to lose its north. We find ourselves reactive rather than grounded, prone to anxiety because we are consuming more than we are praying. Have you noticed how your own temperament shifts when you spend more time scrolling than reflecting? This restlessness is not just a byproduct of technology; it is a spiritual misalignment that pulls us away from the quiet focus required to navigate these days with integrity. We are called to be vigilant, but vigilance is not the same as obsession. If you were to honestly assess your daily input, would you say your current source of information is producing peace or escalating your internal alarm? True instruction comes from cultivating a capacity for silence. When we intentionally step back from the sensory overload, we create space to hear the promptings of the Spirit. This does not mean closing our eyes to reality, but rather viewing reality through the lens of Scripture rather than the lens of a media feed. It is a disciplined act of setting boundaries so that the loudest voice in the room is no longer the world, but the One who already knows how the story ends. By curating what we allow into our minds, we stop being reactive puppets of a chaotic culture and start becoming purposeful conduits of peace.
